Full Statement – SimplyVAT.com operations during the COVID-19 outbreak

This page will be updated regularly to reflect any developments (Last update 17/03/2020)

We’d just like to say to our clients, partners, colleagues, friends and family around the world who may be affected by COVID-19 – we’re here for you. We endeavor to support our ecommerce network through this complex global landscape and will help wherever we can. We hope that you are all able to combat the challenges faced and that we may pull through this together.

With regards to our operations, the health and safety of our community is of the highest importance to us.

Remote Working

As we already have a work from home policy and colleagues working remotely, we’ve been fortunate enough to adapt to the current situation without disruption. We will be continuously developing our Business Contingency Plan in accordance with changes to the global situation, ensuring that we continue to offer our clients the personal service that we pride ourselves on and that their VAT compliance needs are met.

As part of our contingency strategy, we have suspended all business travel until advised otherwise and will also not be inviting visitors to our office. 90% of our team are now working from home with a reduced presence at the company’s headquarters in order to manage incoming correspondence.

Mental Health

We are supporting the team through daily and weekly team video calls as well as offering other channels for mental health support. We’re conscious that in the longer term, working from home comes with its own challenges, including loneliness, so we’ll be making sure we stay connected. This goes for our external communications as well – please don’t hesitate to check-in with your network and let’s look after each other in these unprecedented times.

We will continue to follow the advice of both governing bodies and health professionals to ensure a safe working environment for our team. If you have any questions you can continue to contact us through the normal channels;

What’s happening with your VAT?

As it stands today (17/03/2020), your VAT obligations remain unchanged. This means you are required to file your VAT returns as normal.

If you are a client of SimplyVAT.com, please share your data with your Client Manager the same as you normally do so.

What happens if my Client Manager becomes ill?

If your Client Manager is required to take leave you will be allocated an Interim Client Manager who will continue to maintain your VAT compliance and look after your account.

Let’s keep supporting each other!

Please don’t hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions about your VAT obligations or any other issues. The ecommerce industry has always been great at pulling together – sharing knowledge and supporting each other. Let’s continue to build this awesome community as we face this period of uncertainty together. Stay safe everyone!

Thank you from the SimplyVAT.com team.
