Spanish Government Publishes Draft Regulation on B2B e-Invoicing

The Spanish Government released on June 15th 2023 its B2B e-invoicing draft regulation, outlining further details on the modalities of this upcoming obligation.

When the new e-invoicing requirement comes into effect, businesses within the scope of the legislation will need to comply by either using the Spanish public e-invoicing system or, alternatively, a private provider solution.

Not all businesses will have to start issuing electronic invoicing after the publication of the regulation. Instead, the authorities are staggering the entry into force of the e-invoicing mandate based on the size and annual turnover of businesses. Nevertheless, any company willing to opt in voluntarily will be able to start using electronic invoices sooner than the date applicable to them.
