UK and EU formally adopt the Windsor Framework
The new Brexit deal known as the Windsor Framework, was formally adopted by the EU and the UK with the aim of bringing solutions to movements of certain goods whilst safeguarding both the UK and EU markets. The new arrangements are expected to simplify the customs procedures for movements of parcels between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, enhance cooperation between the EU and UK and give the UK more flexibility when it comes to applying VAT rates to certain goods. The EU and UK are currently working on implementing the solutions agreed upon and more guidance is due to be published to help traders prepare for the new arrangements.
